I am following JavaPassion since many years. Sang Shin has created a fantastic resource for Java Learners and even Java Veterans for upgrading their knowledge.

The courses are to the point and covering the topics in full depths. The training material is easy to follow, to understand and makes the learner hands-on from the first day. The training material is full of illustrations which makes the training engaging and easy to grasp.

The site JavaPassion was free for all till last month, now it is a paid offering but worth the membership fees. I recommend the courses offered by javapassion.com to anyone who wants to learn Java on their own with to the point strategic guidance from the Java Guru Sang Shin.

I have seen several people recommending this site. Haven't tried it myself yet. Free training and web based. Also see the JTraining Events calendar on this site as we try to keep up-to-date with the start dates so you can join and follow the courses with other people at the same time and discuss the assignments.
